The 2022 MG Gloster will soon be available for sale in India and we expect minor cosmetic updates and new features to be part of the package.
The first official teaser image of the updated version of the Gloster flagship SUV has released by MG Motor India Limited. The seven-seater film competes with the likes of Toyota Fortuner, Isuzu MU-X, Skoda Kodiaq and Jeep Meridian in the competitive segment and made its debut as India's first Level 1 ADAS-equipped SUV in October 2020.
The Gloster could get Level 2 ADAS (Advanced Driver Assistance System) technology as it is already available in the Astor Midsize SUV. It gets a 12.2-inch touchscreen infotainment system with connected tech, an all-digital instrument cluster, a 360-degree camera system, a panoramic sunroof, six airbags, among others.
The Gloster currently starts at Rs 31.50 lakh (ex-showroom) and is sold in Super, Smart, Sharp and Savvy trims. It has a 2.0 liter diesel engine, which has been given in two places. There is a single turbo unit that develops a maximum power of 161 bhp and 375 Nm of peak torque, while the twin-turbo mill produces 215 bhp and 480 Nm.
Eight-speed torque converter AT and an all-wheel-drive system are also available. Earlier this year, the British manufacturer owned by China's SAIC brought the updated ZS EV to India and is also working on a more affordable all-electric offering due for debut in the near future. The facelifted Hector is also launching in the coming weeks.
